Waiting for the miracle…

Would you drop in home at eleven tonight
after the remotes have switched off the TV,
the horns have checked into their garages
and the town has drifted into darkness?
When the balcony is all ours to amble
and gaze into those pots that nourish
this chemberthi like this house
once nourished you. Do not ask me to come online,
yes, i know msn messenger shrinks distances.
A hundred new smileys too? How Wonderful.
But today, why don’t you log out, and drop in
home at eleven? Globalization can wait a while.

A mother just wants to talk to her son
and stare into his eyes. For old times sake?

****************************************
Baby, I have been waiting, waiting night and day,
waiting for the miracle,
waiting for the miracle to come.

With due apologies to Leonard Cohen.
