Squirrel Philosophy

Today it rained
and I saw him bound
across the tarmac –
this furry little
naked fellow.
I have my umbrella
and vest,
when he has none to show,
and yet,
he truts fearless
while I scurry
to my coir nest.

Maybe
he knows no fear
Maybe
he is the gregarious sort
who would rather
risk a cough
than stay indoors.
Or maybe, he is,
as I hear someone mutter
“Just another sad wretch
hunting for a new nut”.

Whatever he be,
if you too believe
that the moments are all,
you will as surely know
just as for him,
there are times
when your choices
too might seem false
but you have still made
the right call.

      Thanks da.

If you publish my poems, and only one book ever got sold, I would still be the happiest fella around, though you might be bankrupt!! Hee hee. 😉

  4. Really nice one. Squirrles seem to the flavour of the season.:) just made one such choice. And will have to wait and watch if it is indeed the ‘right’ call.

  5. That was LOVELY. I hereby dub you squirrel on the wire!

Let me say it again…you write VERY well!
