random notes…

Isn’t there a simpler and easier mechanism to pedal a cycle rickshaw ? A non-fuel, and less painful alternative?

My cook is driving me crazy. He understands only odiya. So long as my odiya colleague was here, I did not have a problem. Now that he has gone home to Bhubaneswar for a couple of days, I am forced to interact with the cook much more than I care for. I asked him to make Maggi for dinner tonight, and alu fry with the potatoes chopped real small. (Normally he chops so that you get 3-4 pieces per aloo). I figured he understood and didn’t bother to check. So at around 9:30, when I decide to have my dinner, I check out the maggi, and what do I see? Well, he’s figured the small chopped bit, but he’s added the aloos to the maggi. And some green peas as well. Enterprising chap. Oh well…

It was quite nice actually 🙂

On Saturday I had asked him to get 4 packets of maggi from the market. He did that, and then proceeded to cook 3 of them for me. Flustered, I asked him what the hell was wrong with him, and he said something I didn’t understand. I think he thought that I was inviting Angul over for dinner.

I saw cycle rickshaws with gears in New York’s Times Square (I kid you not). More pedalling but less effort.

  2. Four packets of maggi? Dude, better watch the calories – maggi can add weight like crazy (I learnt it the hard way)… 😦
