Hmm….

A couple of days ago I came across a CNN news item on an incident in Kashmir. The paragraph refers to Kashmir as India Occupied Kashmir. I wonder if the other American publications use the same language. Is this like a new US media trend?

  1. India Occupied Kashmir? I haven’t heard that one before. But this is definitely not a new trend. Remember the big controversy regarding the Indian Map a few years ago. The Britannica Encyclopedia (both print and CD ROM) were banned in India because they showed India without Kashmir! They finally had to reprint the respective pages. A similar thing happened with Microsoft Encarta CD-ROM too.

This has been going on for a long time. See my earlier comment regarding the American media.

  2. I have heard that on CNN tv quite a few times. Its the spin.
