thinking aloud…

Amazing that after 50 years, the US remains the only country with veto rights in the IMF. The more I read, the more I continue to be convinced that the US is glossing over its problems by being an economic bully.

Some things are fundamentally changing though. Economic interests of the major US corporations will in sometime not be tied to the economic interests of the US. And when that happens it will not be as easy for the US govt to avoid the difficult questions.

I am convinced India cannot afford to turn into a consumerist capitalist society. I hope the day never comes when we are all afflicted by the “upgrade itch”.
